- I called it "Wankler" the whole time I was there.
- I had no idea what time if was Sunday night, thanks to daylights savings time. I asked for a wake up call at 715 and got one at 615 - good start. I didn't have a watch. I had a computer on Toronto time, and two cell phones. One cell adjusted to Manitoba time where I got there, and one didn't. I think one adjusted to daylights savings and one screwed it up. I looked at all my differing clocks and phoned the front desk. I said, "sorry to bother you, but I have a silly question. It's 8 o'clock right now, right?" Wrong.
- It's been a while since I've been checked out by a cowboy. Or it had been, before I went to Winker.
- I attached a picture of some Manitoba vegetation. Okay, so I forgot my camera. This is (obviously) a picture of asparagus. I accidentally left it on the counter, and in my long absence, it died a horrible death and tried to fuse itself to my counter.
You might enjoy reading if you like to read about life in Canada, sports, travel, brain issues, books, randomness or the environment. To make things interesting*, I had an aneurysm and intensive brain surgery at 32. If you can relate at all, or are curious about thoughts from a damaged brain, read on. *If that's not the reason, then I am still searching for it.

Manitoba
I wanted to post some non-work related stuff on my trip to Manitoba. I wanted to do so in point form.

I don't think I've ever been to Winkler. I suspect there's lots of Dicks there (common Mennonite family name). Did you try Winkler sausage? Mmmm. Speaking of Mmmm, it's about time for some B24 pho soon, isn't it?
Marcie
Hehehe.
I tried to try Winkler sausage, because I heard it was the shit. The closest I had was called sausage on the menu, but really some sort of weird flattened salty meat bit. This was at a Mexican/Mennonite restaurant - perhaps this should have been first sign that it might not be that good. ;)
Yes, it is ever! Xmas B24? I'm in Calgary from the 23-1.
"... weird flattened salty meat bit" sounds about right. Yup, I think you've had Winkler sausage. So salty, pink and flat - ah, delicious childhood memories. Loved that stuff; of course, I also loved hot dogs and white bread.
