Just like that, off I went to Toronto. I flew last Thursday, and I've had lots of do since then. There was practice a couple of hours after landing, an interview the next morning, then driving to Boston. We got back to Waterloo last night at about 3:30 am.
Thanks so much for everyone who came to my last league game/post game gathering. The Sills produced FABULOUS home made key-lime pie for the occasion. Thanks Sills! There was also beer, hack, and really good friends. I was once again impressed at just how stellar my friends are. Thanks again. I think there are a couple of pictures. Hook me up, whoever took them, and I'll post them? Nat and Marcia both made the trek to the crazy-far dump fields to heckle and hang out, which was great. Also worth mentioning, Mel and Eric were both there from out of town. It's always great to get a chance to see friends that live in different cities. :)
Boston went really really well. The Saturday was rough for me due to lack of sleep. I was tired going in (cursed time change), and I think I got about 4 hours of sleep on Friday night after the drive in. I think I managed to hold my focus, but those who know me know I'm more of a 9 hour sort of sleeper. Saturday night was much better. After team dinner, I asleep well before my room turned the lights out. Sunday was really good ultimate also. Lotus won the tournament!! So exciting. There were really good teams there too - Ozone, Brute Squad, Godiva, Nemesis, Stella and Storm all pop into mind. Unfortunately, the way the pools turned out we didn't get a chance to play Ozone or Stella, and instead re-matched teams in the semi's and finals. They were really strong teams though, so I'm not really complaining. ;) Lotus was pretty stoked with their 7-0 weekend. Now I just have to find out if I made the team!
