The boat was worth it. I really like Vienna so far, and I'm enjoying the practice (read: productively struggling) with my German.
I'm staying in a single room in a guesthouse. It seems like a five star hotel compared to the last place. The guesthouse is run by a helpful and friendly Austrian lady who looks like Mick Jagger in a lady mullet wig. My room has two 'no smoking' signs and an ashtray.
So far Vienna has yummy food (donar kabob!), lots to wander around and see, and sweltering heat - nothing new on that last one. Tomorrow I'm planning to rent a bike and explore.
aside: Bratislava has so many mosquitos!
