You might enjoy reading if you like to read about life in Canada, sports, travel, brain issues, books, randomness or the environment. To make things interesting*, I had an aneurysm and intensive brain surgery at 32. If you can relate at all, or are curious about thoughts from a damaged brain, read on. *If that's not the reason, then I am still searching for it.

Road Ride Invermere/Fairmont
Yesterday I rented a Giant Defy Alliance road bike (perhaps this model) and went for a road ride. My bike is a Giant Defy, but the rental was a composite frame and WAY lighter than mine. The ride above would have been more effort on my bike. This bike only had two rings, and that was okay, even for the hills. I did get to bomb down a couple of really fun hills.
The rental place was a 5 minute walk from the place I was staying. I did a 58 km loop and had a great time. The elevation change was a b.i.t. more than a typical ride in Toronto (try the View Elevation button). I might have pushed the light exercise a tiny bit of this one, but this was the only time, I swear.
I stopped three times too. Once was to check out a pond with a beaver damn. Did you know that from working in Alberta, I learned how to get through barbed wire fences? Not a skill I use a lot in the Tdot. The second stop was for lunch. I had packed my lunch, a fact which I remembered only after wishing for a Hunger Games-esque sandwich to parachute from the sky, thanks to a sponsor. I stopped for a break 11 km outside of Invermere because I was tired, plain and simple. I barely took photos on this ride, but here is one.
