Today I went to Picasso at the AGO, thanks to a friend who is a member. I'm a huge Picasso fan, so it was really great to see the exhibit. I would absolutely recommend going. Click here for a little more information on the exhibit and Picasso's life, click here.
The weekend was members only (no muggles), but it was a bit more a zoo that I would have guessed, giving the timed entries. I guess it was a popular thing to do on opening day. I love being able to walk into a room in a gallery unencumbered, look around, and go see whatever piece draws me. Picasso at the AGO required a bit more ordered viewing with lots of other people. I liked the exhibit enough that even if a bit busy, the experience was over very very positive.
The exhibit is well done, interesting, and extensive. I saw many pieces by Picasso unlike any others I had even seen. I'd never seen one of his sculptures before. My favourite work in the exhibit was a small black and white of a bull. It's near the end. Don't miss it! Just look at everything and you can't miss it. ;).
