The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

This book is such a classic, and I'm a fan of Atwoods, yet this was my first reading of a Handmaid's Tale   I knew the story (mostly), and I thought that I had read it.  I picked it up at the end of last summer from a "free" box outside a house in my neighbourhood.  I really like that informal system in Toronto.  I chose that book to bring with me, not because it was a classic that I meant to read ten years ago, but because it was a small book that I happened to own and fit nicely in my very limited luggage.  ha!  Atwood is the queen of futuristic distopian societies.  Read it!
