I'm away for just two weeks, and my house has six new residents. Thankfully, they are insanely cute. Robins! They live on one of the beams on my porch. As you may have guessed from the pictures, the nest is only about 6.5 feet (?) off the ground. Three of the babies hatched at the beginning of the long weekend. The fourth hatched a day later, and remains much smaller than his or her siblings. Both parent robins are doing a great job with the hunting. They leave for only a few minutes before returning with worms, caterpillars, or one time, a huge moth. The babies "feed me" posture is hilarious. It looks like they have heads on springs. Pictures are below (both Jo's, as they turned out WAY better than mine).

Is it just me or do the babies look like they have fire coming from their eyes?
