China Beach and Botanical Bay

After the tournament, we were lucky enough to have some time on the island.  We left Victoria from the last of the finals and headed to China Beach Campground, between Sooke and Port Renfrew.  It was Jo's first time camping!  Trini's don't camp, as a general rule.  Mine does now.  :)  I think she had a good time.  I know I did.  Monday morning, we played on Botanical Beach.  The whole experience reminded me a lot of the West Coast Trail, or at least the beach sections, which makes a lot of sense, given where it is.  It also made me want to do the Juan De Fuca Trail.  China Beach is at the south end, and Botanical Bay the north.

Photo 1:  The pink wellies that kept coming back.  They were purchased in Loblaws in Duncan for less than $10.  After using them....nay, LOVING them, Jo intentionally left them in the bus station in Victoria, but they were very persistent boots.  Somehow they made the bus.  They also did not have a tag to switch buses after the ferry terminal, but once again, they up and walked to the final destination.  Finally, Jo tried to leave them with her cousins.  The boots are in Toronto.  :)

Photo 3:  Technically this photo is from Goldstream Provincial Park before Jo's tourney, but I like it, so I put it in.
