My friend Eric is in town for the holidays, so we met up (Jo and Eric's girlfriend too) yesterday at the ROM for Ultimate Dinosaurs. I was hoping, naturally, for dinosaurs playing ultimate (those ones with the tiny arms like Carnotaurus would really be at a disadvantage, no?). Okay, so no frisbees, but it is an excellent exhibit. Anyone trying to see it would say "fun for the whole family". They included a fair amount of interactive stuff, which clearly the kids loved. I collected all of the dino....pencil overlay things....I'll find a picture. If you go, don't miss them. My only complaint with this exhibit (well, two I suppose: it's expensive.) has to do with the timed entry. It was very similar to the Picasso exhibit at the AGO in this regard. You specify a specific time slot when you buy the ticket to avoid overcrowding. It's brilliant, except in practice it's total bollocks. Both the AGO and the ROM "limit" the timed tickets about the same way that bars do - just how many people do you think we could cram in here before it's a real fire hazard?
Overall: go see it if you can. It's great!
